CATCOON

Hello. I want to tell you about a boy who loves adventures. You might know him. He knows he lives in a world where he must brush his teeth, drink all his milk, and use his good manners by saying 'please' and 'thank you'. He knows to look both ways before crossing the street and to wear his helmet whenever he rides his bike. He knows all of these things and more...
Sometimes in his bed while looking up at the ceiling, or riding in the car, or sitting in the time-out chair, suddenly the world just disappears and he instantly changes and goes into another place where he finds adventures. This place transforms into his very own world and he is now: CATCOON THE SUPER HERO!
This very neat Super Hero washes his hands and food before eating. He even takes off his muddy shoes whenever entering his house, immediately after rescuing stuff. No one knows who he is because he disguises his true identity. This is so people won't know who borrowed their toys. It is so no one knows who ate the last apple out of the fruit bowl. Or, who, not on purpose but by accident, erased a report when he clicked on the computer to play his spy game.
Yes, this Super Hero is as sneaky as a cat and as reckless as a raccoon. HE IS CATCOON! He can sneak around his world at night and go unnoticed during the day. Like a raccoon, he sniffs out food and cool places to hide. Although he is not fond of cat food, CATCOON does like people food from the other world. He especially likes apples, popsicles (the red ones), ice cream (any kind), peanut butter, popcorn (with lots of butter), and just about anything that people eat.
Because he is part raccoon, this Super Hero loves water. He loves to swim, jump, splash, drink, spit, and throw water. However, he is part cat and that part hates taking bathes.
CATCOON is stronger, can run faster, ride his bike farther, and kick more soccer balls than anyone else in his world because of his big muscles. After a busy day fighting off aliens from outer space who try to enter his world through the cracks in the sidewalk, he is always ready to curl up in a ball on the sofa and rest, with his eyes closed. This is just resting because CATCOON never takes naps.
Sometimes, when CATCOON rests, he dreams of being a real boy. And he doesn't even have to be a Super Hero because he has a mom, dad, brother, grandparents, friends, and neighbors who love him and think he is great...JUST THE WAY HE IS!

I was able to present Stuffed Pork Chops on Chef Al's "What's Cooking Alaska Show" on Wednesday. This was to help promote Tilly's Song and also to discover the little German in each of us. It seems to want to come out around Oktoberfest time. This is a designated time of the year for harvest and all cultures celebrate the end of a hard year of labor in some way or other. The German eat, drink, dance, and generally be merry. I hope you take time out of all your fast pace life of busyness and celebrate life with a thankful heart!
